NRL live: The annual Anzac round kicks off with one of the game’s biggest clashes as the Rabbitohs and the Panthers go head to head. Follow all the action as it happens
In the final minute of the first-half, Stephen Crichton has managed to get the first points on the board for the Panthers.
Starting with an impressive run from Spencer Leniu, Penrith passed far out to the right-side of their attack, and Crichton absolutely obliterated the left-hand defence of South Sydney. That makes nine tries for Crichton in his past 11 games against South Sydney. Crichton gets to take the kick for his own try, and it skims through the posts to make it equal at half-time.Damien Cook and Campbell Graham did a fantastic job of pulling Panthers’ fullback Dylan Edwards into touch after a kick from Lachlan Ilias, and the Rabbitohs get the ball back inside the Panthers 20 metres.
Unfortunately, nothing comes from the set for South Sydney, and there’s an almost-accidental hip-drop from Stephen Crichton on Cody Walker. The Panthers get the ball back inside their 10 metres and they get a handy penalty from Damien Cook to make their way up the field.Credit:
