NRL great Paul Gallen has been involved in a bar fight on NSW ’s south coast , with the incident caught on camera by punters.Gallen denied throwing a punch in the fight that took place with a patron at the Shoalhaven Heads Hotel last Friday night.“I’m more disappointed for putting myself in this situation.”
Gallen is an NRL commentator and his colleague Mark Levy was also at the establishment and attempted to de-escalate the melee.Levy could be heard saying: ‘Stop it. Enough, enough. Gal, stop’ as the NRL player-turned boxer is wrestled to the ground by several men.In another video, a bar staff member is seen wiping Gallen’s face with a cloth when someone in the pub sledges former Sharks captain with “thinks he’s mad” which prompted him to charge towards the man.
The former Kangaroos and Blues forward appears to have blood on his face in the video, which was obtained by The Daily Mail Australia.A police officer has apologised to Jack Wighton, conceding evidence he gave in a court hearing about the NRL star’s alleged fight with Latrell Mitchell was false.The Kangaroos have rung the changes for the Pacific Championships final but the Kiwis haven’t reacted to last week’s fadeout in Melbourne.
