NRL’s mad 11-team scramble as every finals scenario explained: Run Home
The Storm have had some hot and cold moments this season but still look set to finish in the top four. They could even finish third if they win one more game than the Warriors over the next fortnight and make up any difference in points differential. But they can drop to fifth if they lose one more game than the Sharks and slip behind on points differential.
Melbourne could even drop as low as sixth if they lose their final two games and the following happens: the Sharks lose to the Knights in Round 26 and then beat the Raiders and cover the points differential; the Raiders and Knights win their final two games. The good news is there’s still a possibility the Storm can finish fourth even if they drop their final two games. They take on an undermanned Titans side first before a big challenge in Round 27 in the Broncos.
