Staying with Greenwich for a minute, and the independent MP for Sydney says it will be up to the crossbench to provide stability to parliament.
Greenwich, who was key to getting the voluntary assisted dying bill through parliament and put pressure on Labor and the Coalition to commit to banning gay conversion therapy, wouldn’t say who he would support in the event of a hung parliament. “I highly doubt we will have a definitive result on Saturday night. I am quite sure about that,” Greenwich says.
Asked by Rowland which party he’d hypothetically support in the event of a hung parliament, he said his independent colleagues would push ahead with poker machine reform “regardless of who forms government, but yes, you’re right, the Coalition has a stronger package. They’ve delivered a stronger package at this election.”
