Labor is looking increasingly unlikely to form a majority government in New South Wales as counting continues for the four seats yet to be called.
The counting process kicked off again at 9am on Wednesday after electoral officers wrapped up at 7pm overnight, after a full day of counting on Monday.
Labor have secured 46 seats of the 47 needed for majority government but if the trend in the remaining seats continues in favour of the Liberals, Chris Minns and his team may be forced into minority.Labor candidate for Terrigal Sam Boughton has fallen behind in the vote count. Picture: NewsLocal He previously held the electorate on a 12.3 per cent margin, meaning it was once a very safe Liberal seat.
He was suspended from parliament last March after news of the charges came to light and had been sitting as an independent since the allegations – which he strenuously denies – were first aired in 2020.
