"We need everybody to come out and protest on Thursday," a statement on Community Action for Rainbow Rights' social media read.NSW Police said its "priority" was to ensure the safety of the public. " recognise and support the rights of individuals and groups to exercise their rights of free speech and peaceful assembly, however, the first priority is always the safety of the wider community," the spokesperson said.
Pell was jailed over child sexual abuse allegations, but always maintained his innocence and his convictions were later overturned.
