NSW recorded its eighth consecutive day of zero recent coronavirus cases linked to community transmission as warm weather prompted authorities to keep a close eye on long weekend crowds at popular beaches and attractions

NSW recorded its eighth consecutive day of zero recent coronavirus cases linked to community transmission on Saturday, as warm weather prompted authorities to keep a close eye on long weekend crowds at popular beaches and attractions.

Contamination concerns arising from sewage prompted warnings for swimmers to avoid Parsley Bay at Vaucluse, while a section of Bronte Beach was cleared for the same reason on Saturday. Mr Andrews said the actions of revellers who gathered in large groups on the beach, shown in footage aired by Seven News, were "unacceptable" and it was crucial that no-one "jeopardise everything Victorians have done".

"It's pretty warm temperatures and quite significantly above average for this time of year," he said. The unseasonal warmth will not last, with a southerly buster expected to blow through by late Monday afternoon.
