New South Wales teachers have secured a giant deal with the NSW government in an agreement that will make the state’s educators the highest paid in Australia.
Negotiations have been in the works for several months for a substantial pay increase and a momentous step was reached on Tuesday as the NSW Teachers Federation began to consider an offer from the Minns Labor government.
Starting salaries will increase from $75,791 to $85,000 while the salary of a top of the scale teacher has risen from $113,042 to $122,100. NSW teachers will become the highest paid in the country after securing an historic pay agreement on Saturday.
