The Nuggets know the stakes. They know that this is potentially their best chance ever at a title. And so far, Denver's embracing the chance it needs to prove itself. That starts Sunday vs. Minnesota, writes tjonesonthenba.
Disregard that this will be Denver’s best chance at anAnd forget that the Nuggets, for perhaps the first time in franchise history, will have the best player in practically any series in which they play. Indeed, has entered that rarified air where the rest of the NBA is just waiting for him to lead a team to the mountaintop. It’s a gargantuan compliment to where Jokić is as a basketball player and a gargantuan ask, considering the landmines that exist in the current Western Conference.
“Guys are really locked in and focused,” Denver head coach Michael Malone said. “We’ve had great practices this week. It’s been great getting into the gym and spending a lot of time together. There was a lot of team bonding. Guys have had great energy. We haven’t had a lot of time to specifically prepare for our opponent, but we covered a lot of things.”

Malone and his staff slept a few hours, arose early Saturday morning and went through more series prep. And then, the Nuggets had a lively practice later Saturday morning. There was a team dinner early in the week.
