A report presented to members of the scrutiny committee yesterday highlighted that complaints increased between 2022 and 23 by 6%
The number of social work complaints made to Glasgow City Council has increased slightly in the last year according to the latest figures.
Councillors were advised that almost all care services complaints focused on home care but during the committee meeting questions were raised by councillor John Daly about how accurate the number was.There are around 94,000 visits carried out in Glasgow each week which are monitored through the local authority’s care safe system.
“Given the vulnerability of the people who are visited, who are often suffering from many challenges, do we know how robust that figure is? Members were informed that a care safe system is in place which allows the council to monitor all visits that take place electronically.
