A neonatal nursing team at a Glasgow hospital has been named the best in Scotland.
The staff at the Princess Royal Maternity at the Royal Infirmary were declared Team of the Year at the Scottish Neonatal Nurses Group conference.Glasgow LEZ: legal bid launched by business to halt scheme
Susan Heron, senior charge nurse, said: “We’re all blown away by it all, but I’m so pleased for the whole team here, they deserve it for all of their hard work, especially over the last few years with the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. “To be named the best team in Scotland by our peers means so much too, it means a lot that they recognise the work that’s going on here at the PRM to look after not only the babies in our care, but their families too. The team are so proud and I’m proud of them.
“This award is for our ongoing work around patient and family centred care, it’s a recognition of the culture we have created here and the amazing feedback we have been getting from families.” Mandy Meechan, Chief Nurse for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, said: “I was absolutely delighted to hear that our neonatal team at the Princess Royal Maternity Unit has been recognised by their peers in this way.
