NWRB Executive Director Sevillo David Jr. said the agency approved the MWSS’s request to continue the 52 cms allocation for June 16 to 30.
The National Water Resources Board on Friday extended the increased allocation of 52 cubic meters per second of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System from the Angat-Ipo-La Mesa water system for the rest of June.
To recall, the water board decided to retain the 52 cms allocation for the MWSS - which has concession deals with Manila Water and Maynilad to serve the east and west zones of Metro Manila and nearby provinces - from June 1 to 15.MWSS Angat/Ipo Operations Management Division head Patrick James Dizon thanked the NWRB for extending the increased water allocation for the rest of the month.
“With the same commitment that we promised to NWRB nung unang inapprove yung 52 cms nung April 16 na no interruption on the areas na sinusupplyan ng Angat Dam, we have presented to NWRB the impact if ever di ma-extend ‘yung 52 cms, which is water interruption on 632,000 water service connections,” he said.
