OAKLAND — In a surprising development, the first-year Oakland Ballers announced on Sunday afternoon they have fired manager and ex-major leaguer Micah Franklin after just 54 games., are currently 29-25, tied for the fourth-best overall record in the independent Pioneer League.
Former major leaguer Aaron Miles, a graduate of Antioch High School who served as the team’s infield and third base coach, will take over as the Ballers’ interim manager.
