Love Our Lake! Campaign aims to draw people to Lake Merritt this summer for free family-friendly activities.
Lake Merritt is also known as the jewel of Oakland . A new campaign that launched Monday hopes to add some shine to the popular destination, which has also been the scene of crimes, including homicides, car break-ins, and vandalism."Love Our Lake!" which is meant to revitalize and showcase the beauty of Oakland and its artists against the backdrop of Lake Merritt, officially kicks off this Saturday with a free afternoon concert and community picnic.
