The annual community Obon Festival is set for July 27-28 at the Vista Buddhist Temple. Among the highlights will be Taiko drumming and Bon Odori dancing.The annual community Obon Festival, a Japanese cultural celebration, is from 2 to 8 p.m. July 27-28 at the Vista Buddhist Temple, 150 Cedar Road. The “gathering of joy and remembrance” includes Bon Odori dancing, Taiko drumming and Japanese foods along with discussions about Buddhism, Japanese cultural activities and marketplace.
On Saturday, there will be a San-Shi Judo demonstration in the Cultural Center on the main stage and concert by the Southern California Koto Ensemble in Temple Hondo along with Koto Hands-On activity and other entertainment.
