Ben Fordham has declared supporters of the Indigenous Voice to Parliament are “so obsessed with themselves” and their proposals that they would rather “go down with the ship” than change the words of the draft constitutional amendment.
During a landmark speech to the Garma festival in July last year, Anthony Albanese unveiled a draft set of words to be embedded in the constitution upon a successful referendum.
Fordham said the proposal put forward by Mr Albanese was almost “word for word” taken from eminent indigenous Australian Noel Pearson’s report to the Referendum Council in 2017. “Albo grabbed Noel’s words anyway, almost word for word, and that’s why Noel is dead set on getting his words up." He also revealed he would be speaking to an “eminent Australia” on his 2GB breakfast program on Tuesday who would unveil alternate wording for the Constitutional amendment.
