Majority of Filipinos feel safe in their neighborhoods, according to OCTA Research’s Tugon ng Masa survey results released on Tuesday, June 13. | ManilaBulletin

Eighty-seven percent of Filipinos said they feel safe in their neighborhoods, while only 4 percent do not.

Socio-economic classes ABC and D have the highest percentages of adult Filipinos who feel safe in their communities. “The highest rate was observed in the Cordillera Administrative Region and Mimaropa , while the lowest satisfaction rating was recorded in Bicol Region ,” OCTA said. The percentage of adult Filipinos who feel safe from potential break-ins varies by region, ranging from 32 to 100 percent.

“In the major areas, the highest percentage of adult Filipinos who feel safe walking alone at night within their neighborhood is in the NCR . Conversely, in Visayas , the highest percentage of adult Filipinos express a lack of safety when walking alone in their neighborhood at night,” it said.
