Alaska Airlines pilot Joseph Emerson, 44, appeared in an Oregon court wearing a pink shirt with a blue jumpsuit on top and was arraigned on Tuesday afternoon.
He also told federal officials, ‘Yah… I pulled both emergency shut off handles because I thought I was dreaming and I just wanna wake up,’ according to the affidavit. Emerson was sitting on a jump seat, which is a foldout usually behind the captain’s seat. A pilot fought off Emerson in the cockpit for about 30 seconds before he ‘quickly settled down’, stated the affidavit.
