‘Offensive’: Perrottet blasts ClubsNSW ‘Catholic gut’ comments
Premier Dominic Perrottet has blasted comments from the boss of ClubsNSW as offensive to people of faith across NSW, in the newest division between the state government and the powerful clubs’ lobby group.
“I think it’s completely wrong for the CEO of ClubsNSW to say that this is ... part of my Catholic faith. I’d say that that’s offensive – not to me, but to people of faith across NSW. And if you replace the word Catholic with Islamic, Jewish or Hindu, you’d be resigning before you got to work this morning.”“I believe in a tolerant society people of faith respect people who don’t have faith, and people who don’t have faith respect the views of people who do,” he told host Ben Fordham.
