Allen LeSage, who worked for the agency since September 2017, was arrested on May 20, 2024, after an Internal Affairs audit revealed that he was allegedly using the Department of Highway and Motor Vehicles database for “personal reasons outside of the scope of his police duties,” Waters said.JSO opened an investigation and discovered that on April 14, 2024, LeSage used the database to run 15 license tags for vehicles parked at an apartment complex where his ex-girlfriend lived.
“Accessing data for personal reasons is strictly prohibited,” Waters said. “No one is above the law. When a member of this agency violates the law, we’re going to take action.
