Lancashire Police are appealing for help in identifying a woman whose body tragically ended up in the River Mersey in Manchester.
At around 11.10am on Thursday 21 March 2024, officers and emergency services were called to reports of a body in the river, close to Chorlton Water Park in Manchester. Sadly, the body of a female was subsequently recovered from the water. Her cause of death has not been confirmed and enquiries are still ongoing. Officers have unfortunately not been able to identify the woman, who is described as 156cm / 5 ft 1 in height, with medium dark hair.
She additionally had non-slip style socks. Investigators are committed to discovering her identity and determining what led to her death. Lancashire Police are helping their colleagues in Manchester by widening the net to help identify the woman.
