Two police officers have been been treated for injuries after a stolen ute rammed their vehicle in Kununurra, a Kimberley town with high rates of youth crime.

A spokesperson for WA Police said the stolen white ute was initially seen driving along a footpath in Kununurra, near Messmate Way, just before 4am on Wednesday morning. Police saw the vehicle a few blocks away on Barringtonia Avenue and tried to pull it over, while activating the police car's emergency lights and sirens.Shortly after, police abandoned a pursuit along the Victoria Highway.Two men, aged 19 and 20 are in custody, while both male officers, a constable and sergeant, sustained minor injuries.Earlier this week, in a seperate incident, a stolen buggy was driven recklessly through Kununurra's streets.
