A new Lanarkshire windfarm capable of generating a year’s worth of energy for more than 30,000 homes has had an official opening attended by government ministers and school pupils.
The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.The windfarm is located north of Easterton on Airdrie Road, between the villages of Greengairs and Caldercruix, and is made up of Vestas turbines which are 150m tall – three times the height of 18-storey Monklands landmark tower block Jackson Court.
Mr Gray visited the site in his Airdrie & Shotts constituency this week for the opening ceremony, unveiling a plaque and making a speech before the assembled audience of company and community representatives.
