Vimahi, a Hawaii native, was an important addition to Ryan Day’s first signing class in 2019. Day made a late trip to the islands to help lock down Vimahi’s commitment. He provided depth throughout his five seasons and made a couple of spot starts — including last December in the Cotton Bowl against Missouri. However, he was not mentioned in the right guard competition this spring and projected for more backup duties in his final season.Vimahi became the fourth Buckeye to enter his name in the portal this spring. Running back Dallan Hayden transferred to Colorado. Safeties Cedrick Hawkins and Ja’Had Carter have yet to name their destinations.
