Could it end up meeting Glenville at some point in the playoffs? Both defending champs are now in the same classification after the Ohio High School Athletic Association unveiled its new divisional alignments for this fall, following approval Thursday by its board of directors.
The OHSAA adjusts its divisions each year because of competitive balance, but it factors in base enrollment only every two years, and those can lead to more movement. This happens to be one of those two years. In all, 28 Northeast Ohio teams from Cleveland to Akron are on the move this fall. Here is the breakdown:Note that Benedictine went down from Division II to Division III competitively, but it is a Division IV school when factoring only base enrollment.
