Latest Nottingham Forest news as defender making positive impression after joining Reds in summer transfer window
Nottingham Forest brought in some excellent additions during the summer window. But arguably their best bit of business was the very first signing they made.
If you are looking for consistency, though, Ola Aina is out in front. He might not have as big an impact in games or single-handedly be the difference in the Reds looking to climb up the table this term, but he has slotted straight in and been superb. The fact he was a free transfer only makes it an even better decision to secure his signature - that's what makes it such a fine bit of business.
His ability to play on either flank, and as a wing-back or full-back, is a big asset. The 26-year-old is naturally right-footed, but you wouldn’t know it from the way he has taken to playing on the left. Head coach Steve Cooper wants the Reds, individually and collectively, to be flexible in the way they play, and Aina epitomises that.
