The NBA recently posted an old clip of Chicago Bulls legend (and current Memphis Grizzlies point guard) Derrick Rose.
Rose said in the speech to his mom: "Last but not least, I want to thank my mom. The reason that I play the way that I play. Just everything. Just knowing that the days that I don't feel like going into practice, or I'm having a hard time. I think about her when she had to wake me up, go to work, just making sure that I'm alright and making sure the family's alright. Those our hard days. My days shouldn't be hard because I love doing what I'm doing.
The Bulls reached the Eastern Conference Finals, but lost to LeBron James and the Miami Heat .Despite no longer being a superstar, Rose has been a productive role player over the last decade. He just finished his first season with the Memphis Grizzlies with averages of 8.0 points, 1.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest while shooting 46.1% from the field and 36.6% from the three-point range.
