More than 1.5 million pensioners receive either £68.10 or £101.75 each week to help with a long-term health condition.
The latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions show that at the end of August last year, there were more than 1.5 million people across Great Britain receiving additional financial support through Attendance Allowance. The data also indicated that over 136,250 people living in Scotland are receiving either £68.10 or £101.75 each week through the benefit.

However, there are more than 50 conditions being supported by Attendance Allowance and even if you’re already claiming for one of these, another may have developed or your current condition may have become more debilitating. From April 8, 2024 these rates will rise to £72.65 and £108.55 each week. This amounts to either £290.60 or £434.20 every pay period.
