A university student studying for an exam at a cafe was asked by two older women to relocate her belongings so they could sit at her table because it was shaded. The incident occurred despite numerous empty tables being available.
When we picture folks squabbling over seats, it's typically in places where seating is assigned like on trains, planes, or at the theatre. However, one woman shared that she was confronted by two older women at a cafe, who insisted she relocate to another table so they could sit down.
In a Reddit post, the woman detailed that she is a university student and was at the cafe studying for an exam she had later that day. She mentioned the cafe is opposite her campus and is primarily filled with other students, and it's rare to see anyone older at the cafe as it's recognised as a student hotspot.
She penned: "I noticed two older women looking at me and glancing around the coffee shop. It was a bit odd, but I didn't think much of it at first. They sat down at a table but then got up and started walking toward me, which felt even weirder. The woman alleged that the two other customers even went as far as involving an employee, but the barista sided with her, leading to the other women exiting the cafe "clearly annoyed".
