Cashman - who is serving a minimum of 42 years in prison - previously had a challenge against the length of his sentence rejected
Child killer Thomas Cashman will appear before the Court of Appeal this morning to challenge his convictions. Cashman, now 35, killed schoolgirl Olivia Pratt-Korbel while trying to shoot drug dealer and burglar Joseph Nee in a botched assassination attempt in Dovecot in August 2022. Cashman discharged a number of bullets, including one that went through the door of Olivia's house on Kingsheath Avenue .
During the trial, a woman who once had an affair with Cashman told the court he had turned up at her house and said 'I've done Joey'. The motive for the shooting was never established and Nee did not cooperate with police. After Cashman was found guilty, he refused to leave his cell to face sentence, prompting a campaign for a change in the law. Criminals can now face an extra two years in prison if they refuse to attend a sentencing.
