However, there was still some uncertainty over whether Magnussen would be able to return on Saturday. The plan was for Bearman to drive the sprint segment of the weekend before handing back over to Magnussen for conventional qualifying.They said: “MoneyGram Haas F1 Team can confirm that Kevin Magnussen will not compete in the São Paulo Grand Prix and Oliver Bearman will race for the team for the remainder of the weekend.”
Bearman is the team's official reserve driver but has also been confirmed in their race seat for 2025.
