The Australian equestrian community is rallying behind three-time Olympian Vicki Roycroft, who is in intensive care after a suspected heart attack. 7NEWS

Roycroft’s sister Joanne says she was stabilised at Concord Hospital before being transferred to Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, in an update to family and friends being shared on social media.In the update, Joanne said Roycroft has a large tear in her aorta and was undergoing an eight-hour surgery.

A spokesperson for the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW confirmed to 7NEWS.com.au Roycroft suffered a medical episode while preparing for a show jumping competition on Saturday.
