First Strictly Come Dancing 2024 contestant confirmed after impressive Olympic Games performance
British Olympic swimmer Tom Dean is set to make a splash on this year's Strictly Come Dancing , hot on the heels of his impressive feats at the recent Olympic Games.
Looking to glean insights from three-time Olympic champion and last years contestant Adam Peaty, Tom is eager to trade the poolside for the ballroom. Speaking about his decision, Tom shared: "Naturally you want to take a break after you've had a full Olympic cycle and the opportunity arose. I thought it would be really exciting to try something a bit different. I'll be doing that and straight back into training after it. It's something to look forward to.
Fresh from Olympic success, having clinched the men's 200m freestyle gold at Tokyo 2020, Tom Dean has continued to make waves. The Bath-born swimmer joined forces with James Guy, Matt Richards, and Duncan Scott to spectacularly defend their men's 4x200m freestyle relay title, marking a historic moment by being the first team to win back-to-back Olympic relay golds with the unchanged line-up.
The controversy strikes a discordant note as accusations fly between Amanda, 50, who claimed experiences of "bullying" and "aggressive behaviour" from her previous year's partner, Giovanni, 33. Nevertheless, Giovanni denies any allegations of such misconduct.
