Despite the best effort's of emergency crews, a man in his 40s was pronounced dead outside a home in Fallowfield
As cars tried to make their way through Lloyd Street South in Fallowfield, a line of blue, black and brown bins carefully positioned across the road blocked access. Beyond the row of bins lay a police cordon where emergency services were parked up and responding to a tragic incident.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said in a statement the man was believed to be involved in a workplace accident and they were investigating to understand the circumstances behind the incident. Just metres down from the scene, the brightly coloured bins lining the road became a makeshift cordon. Residents said they saw the response from the emergency services and felt inclined to help.
Another neighbour, who has set up a chair next to the bins, says he lives round the corner and came after he heard the sirens. “I just came up to see what was happening and I noticed there were a lot of cars getting stuck by the cordon,” he explained. The Manchester Evening News understands the house in question on the road was under renovation. It's not known whether the wall said to be involved was inside the house or outside.
