At least 25 injured in ‘major incident’ after bus and two cars crash
A major incident has been declared this afternoon after a bus crash left one dead and 19 people injured.Over 15 emergency service workers are in attendance at the scene in Newport, Isle of Wight, with three air ambulances called in from neighbouring counties.Fire crews were this afternoon rescuing people from the wreckage of the crash on the single-carriageway road lined by trees and fields.
Richard Tyldsley, Southern Vectis general manager, said: ‘We are aware of a serious collision today involving one of our route 7 buses. ‘At this stage the full circumstances and details of any injuries are unclear and we are investigating.’
