One Direction's documentary 'This Is Us' is being re-released in Odeon cinemas on January 14th, 2024, to honor the memory of Liam Payne who tragically passed away last year. One Direction 's hit documentary This Is Us is being re-released in memory of band member Liam Payne , with proceeds going to mental health charities. The group rose to fame after forming on The X Factor in 2010, with Liam joining forces with Niall Horan , Zayn Malik , Harry Styles , and Louis Tomlinson under the guidance of Simon Cowell and guest judge Nicole Scherzinger. They achieved massive global success, selling over 70 million records worldwide.
However, tragedy struck the band last year when Liam, just 31, fell to his death from a third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires. Fans worldwide were devastated by the news. On Tuesday, This Is Us, directed by the late Morgan Spurlock, will return to Odeon cinemas for a one-night screening, with proceeds going to mental health charities in Liam's honour. Odeon announced on social media: 'By popular demand, and in tribute to the late Liam Payne, we're bringing One Direction: This is Us back to the big screen January 14. We'll be donating all ticket profits from this screening to the mental health awareness charities MIND, SAMH and AWARE NI.' The cinema company has billed the film as 'An intimate all-access look at life on the road for the global music phenomenon. Weaved with stunning live concert footage, this inspiring feature film tells the remarkable story of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis' meteoric rise to fame, from their humble hometown beginnings and competing on the X-Factor, to conquering the world and performing at London's famed O2 Arena.', reports the Mirror. The description goes on: 'Hear it from the boys themselves and see through their own eyes what it's really like to be One Direction.' Fans have been moved by the show of support and are spreading the word on social media platforms to encourage others to get tickets. One fan said: 'Nice one Odeon, this will mean a lot to fans.' while another expressed: 'Thank you for that. Liam's deserved more than tributes, he's irreplaceable. But you're doing a good thing.' After the announcement of Liam's passing, his bandmates shared their heartfelt emotions in a statement: 'We will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. We will miss him terribly. We love you, Liam.' In his personal tribute, Harry added: 'The years we spent together will forever remain among the most cherished of my life. I will miss him always, my lovely friend'. Louis, a fellow band member, paid an emotional tribute to Liam, saying: 'the kind brother I'd longed all my life for.' He continued with heartfelt remembrance: 'Reminiscing about all the thousands of amazing memories we had together is a luxury I thought I'd have with you for life.' Louis further pledged his support for Liam's son, adding: 'I want you to know that if Bear ever needs me I will be the Uncle he needs in his life and tell him stories of how amazing his dad was.
