The ONS says that despite record employment in the country, 3.6 million people have never held a paid job.
The ONS said full-time and other students account for more than two million 16-64-year olds identified in the studyOfficial figures released for the first time show almost one-in-ten adults has never had a paid job, despite record employment in the UK.
The Office for National Statistics said students and full-time carers accounted for the bulk of the 3.6 million people.
