So we went to a pub for the first time this weekend. It's a local and quite small. My eldest didnt feel comfortable when a family came and sat on the table next to us and she got a bit upset. I reassured her, encouraged her to move sides etc. She just didn't feel comfortable which is completely understandable. Hubby got wound up with her, said drink up we're going and we left.
From my experience as parent and husband intertwine that with covid 19 everyone is feeling an eliment of stress , whether this is due to a full change in routine which has changed and unbalanced family life with out no pre warning it makes the nicest of us a little bit high rate at some time of another ....
Outside I commented he'd not been very compassionate to her and if she feels like that it's fine etc. Then he said 'you've done this, it's your fault, you've wrapped them in you're stupid bubble now they're like this' and stormed off It's really done me, I've done my best in a situation we've never faced before. I've taken the kids out every day and introduced them back to shops gradually as restrictions have eased. I'm not a panicky person, I've encouraged them to wash and gel their hands but been very careful not to frighten the kids. I just feel like hes trashed my parenting when I've literally just done my best.
My personal advice is first breathe , then talk to your husband about how you feel but not overact on this occasion , maybe he was looking forward to getting our fir the afternoon and felt it was all a little strange or stressful , plan another night just with your hubby even if it just for an hour .
