Anthony Albanese is facing calls to pull the Assistant Treasurer 'into line' over accusations he gave public guidance to the RBA, as new figures reveal how average mortgages repayments have skyrocketed.

For the second time in a week Mr Jones questioned if more interest rate increases were necessary, after the RBA hiked the cash rate by 25 basis points.

Simon Birmingham has called for the Prime Minister to sack Mr Jones. “The Reserve Bank Governor is operating off a flawed economic model, he won’t admit it, he was wrong two years ago where he told everybody interest rates wouldn’t go up,” Mr Conroy told Sky News Australia’s Pete Stefanovic on Tuesday.
