Optus has introduced new pricing for customers who sign up from this week, with some plans costing up to $13 more. The telco has also reduced the number of its offerings, with the four plans previously on offer reduced to three. The new pricing model was introduced on May 27 and will not affect existing customers. Under the new pricing model, the smallest plan has been increased from 30GB a month for $49 to 50GB a month for $52.
The most expensive option per gigabyte was $1.63 under the previous model, while it is $1.04 per gigabyte under the new model. Large plan subscribers can now also get $20 SubHub credit through the new model. Customers will continue to receive unlimited talk and text nationally, and unlimited calls to 35 international destinations. “We continue to invest in our network to boost the capacity, speed, reliability of 4G and rollout our award-winning 5G network to even more Australians,” Optus said.
