An orchestra in Kyiv has played the Ukrainian anthem in the city's main square in an act of defiance as Russian soldiers advance towards the capital.

Kremlin forces are advancing on the capital city but progress has been much slower than many analysts predicted. A long convoy sent to encircle the city has been creeping towards Kyiv but has struggled with logistical problems.
