Baltimore Orioles catcher was hit in the face by a fastball and was gushing blood from his nose. Somehow, he remained in the game.

Baltimore Orioles catcher James McCann was hit in the face with a 94.6 mph fastball on Monday in the first inning of a game against the Toronto Blue Jays. McCann was down for a couple minutes as blood gushed from his nose. Then, he was able to stand up as trainers attended to his nose in an overall scary incident in Baltimore. Somehow, after the long delay, he walked down to first base and stayed in the game.

He debuted back in 2014 with the Detroit Tigers, and spent five seasons there, before spending two with the Chicago White Sox. With Chicago, McCann enjoyed the best two offensive seasons of his career, and made his lone All-Star appearance in 2019.McCann then spent two seasons with the New York Mets before joining the Orioles. Last year, in 69 games, McCann slashed .222/.269/.377 with six home runs, 26 runs batted in, and an OPS of .646.He entered Monday's game hitting .
