Ormskirk School, previously deemed 'inadequate' by Ofsted, has received a 'good' rating across all categories in a recent inspection. The school has made significant improvements in areas such as pupil behavior, teaching quality, and exam results.
A new rating has been unveiled at a school where pupils behaved inappropriately and handed in unfinished and untidy work.
The inspectors only managed to list four strengths; the recent appointment of a new headteacher, effective safeguarding, the range of subjects and effective careers information and guidance. The full report has not yet been published but the school has shared extracts . They described Ofsted inspectors commenting on how the “polite and friendly” pupils are “happy and proud” to attend Ormskirk. Pupils were commended for their initiatives to help others, including organising food bank donations and charity bake sales.
“Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, and we have a clear vision to ensure that every pupil, regardless of their background or needs, thrives as part of our school community. Our ambition for Ormskirk doesn’t stop here. We are committed to building on this success, creating an environment where every child is given the best opportunities to flourish.”
David Clayton, CEO of the Endeavour Learning Trust, commented: “Ormskirk’s recent Ofsted inspection confirms what we see every day - a vibrant and inclusive school community that has undergone an incredible transformation.
