Stefan Ortega's future at Manchester City was in doubt but the German goalkeeper has penned a new deal that will see him stay at the Etihad.
Stefan Ortega has signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Manchester City until the end of the 2025/26 season, ending any chance of a move back to Germany this summer.
"It’s now two years ago when I signed for City and what has happened in these two years is incredible," he said. "I think, just me as a person, I am a completely different person now than two years ago and that means a lot for me. Ederson had a stop-start 2023/24 season, being forced off with injury in four different Premier League fixtures, and the Brazilian is the subject of interest from a couple of Saudi Pro League clubs this summer. The 30-year-old is considering the proposals and a departure during this window remains a possibility.
Ortega values life in Manchester as much as life at City and despite toying with a return to Germany, he is happy to remain in the north west of England.
