Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx had to be rushed to hospital on Tuesday with a “medical complication”, his daughter Corinne has revealed. 7NEWS

that Foxx’s condition was serious enough that members of his family had come in from out of town to visit the hospital where he had been taken.Foxx has been working in Atlanta on a new film called Back In Action, co-starring Glenn Close and Cameron Diaz.

The 55-year-old won the Oscar for Best Actor in 2005 for his portrayal of musician Ray Charles in the film Ray.He’s also starred in a rollcall of other hit films, including Dreamgirls, Miami Vice, Django Unchained, Horrible Bosses and Baby Driver. At this stage it is not clear how long Foxx will be in recovery or when he will be able to return to filming.
