The actor was visibly emotional during the Oscars on Sunday night as he paid tribute to his friend and Grease co-star Olivia Newton-John, who passed away last August.
The actor - who played Danny Zuko in the 70s cult classic - presented the In Memoriam segment, which honoured some of Hollywood's greatest stars who passed away this last year. Olivia - John's love interest Sandy Olsson in Grease - died in August aged 73, following a battle with breast cancer.
'That was truly genuine. Losing a lifelong friend is incredibly hard,' an empathetic viewer wrote online of John's display of emotion.While a third emotionally penned, 'The minute I saw John Travolta walk out I knew what was coming and I still wasn’t prepared for his speech.'Olivia - also known for her astonishing music career, which made her a four-time Grammy winner - died peacefully at her South California home surrounded by family and friends.
