Gaspé and Pine Point

Fresh from selling the Windfall gold project in Quebec, Canada, to Gold Fields for C$2.2 billion, the Osisko team is back with Osisko Metals and C$100 million in bought deal financing as it aims to create a North American critical metals company. Osisko Metals will be led by John Burzynski as executive chair and Robert Wares as chief executive, with Don Njegovan as president and Blair Zaritsky as CFO.The Osisko team is switching focus from yellow metal to red metal.

The site has an on-site electrical substation providing renewable hydroelectric power from Hydro-Quebec, and the site benefits from paved road access, proximity to Murdochville, and St Lawrence seaway port access at Sainte-Anne-de-Monts. Osisko Metals acquired the project from Glencore in July 2023 for US$25 million, paid through the issuance of a convertible note and a milestone $20 million payment upon reaching commercial production.
