Oti Mabuse shares news of celeb mentors ahead of Romeo & Duet
News that Oti Mabuse had quit Strictly Come Dancing came as a shock to both fans and her fellow dancers. But for the 31-year-old Latino queen it was something she had been considering for some time.
After presenting stints on Steph’s Packed Lunch and judging roles on The Greatest Dancer, The Masked Singer and Dancing on Ice, Oti was ready to fly solo. “I want to, hopefully, be blessed with a long career, which means I can do other things, whether it be a sports programme, a dancing programme. I did Morning Live . Hopefully, I can do all these things and actually respect what they’re about and bring that part of myself to those shows. So, yeah, I guess it was about growing outside of dancing.”
And when we asked if the concept of Romeo And Duet had worked for her Marius, she jokes,“No! Most of the time both of us don’t even know the words, but we’re not singers." “Also, I didn’t want to choose a dress that looked so over the top that we forget that it’s not about me, it’s about the contestants.
