Otto Warmbier’s family slam Kim Jong-un’s ‘evil regime’ for killing their son
THE family of Otto Warmbier’ have blasted Kim Jong-un’s "evil regime" for killing their son after Donald Trump defended the tyrant.
He added: "I don’t believe that he would have allowed that to happen. It just wasn’t to his advantage.He tells me he didn’t know about it and I will take him at his wordAt the time of Warmbier’s death, North Korean officials claimed he had suffered a brain injury after contracting botulism, a form of poisoning.Trump, 72, had previously insisted he intended to press Kim on the hermit kingdom’s atrocious human rights record.
Warmbier was a student at the University of Virginia when he visited North Korea's capital Pyongyang on his way to Hong Kong where he was going to study. But his pleas fell on deaf ears and he was sentenced to 15 years of hard labour in March 2016 -causing headlines around the world He told how his son came home blind, deaf, howling and jerking violently on the aircraft on the way home to the States.after the pair failed to agree a nuke dealThe leaders scrapped a planned signing ceremony as their second day of crunch talks in Hanoi ended without an agreement on how to denuclearise the Korean peninsula.
