From country music legend Troy Cassar-Daly to electronic music newcomer Cyril and superstars Jessica Mauboy, Christine Anu and Emma Donovan - Indigenous artists are well represented in a huge range of this year's ARIA categories.
Artist and producer Cyril had a pretty chill reaction when streams of his song Stumblin' In - a remix of the 70s Susie Quatro and Chris Norman classic - hit 100 million. "I love being the guy that's just casual and enjoying my dream career," he posted on socials, thanking his fans and promising to never change.
, for his tune Nights Like This. has picked up a nomination for Best Solo Act, where he's up against country music powerhouse Troy Cassar-Daley and songstress Emma Donovan . And Mauboy - as well as earning a second nomination in the Best Pop release category for Yours Forever - did a video with Nathaniel Miller, who has been nominated as ARIA music teacher of the year for his work using music to help preserve endangered language.
and 3% for Best Hip Hop release, while Barkaa and King Stingray are both in the mix for Best Live Act. Budjerah's song Is It Ever Gonna Make Sense and Miss Kaninna's Blak Britney have both been nominated for Best Video. Christine Anu's Waku , DOBBY's Warrangu; River Story and Radical Son's Bilambiyal are all finalists in the Best World Music Album category.
